Telefónica, the largest telecommunication company in Spain according to a report, is enabling the purchase of products with crypto like Bitcoin in its technology marketplace. As crypto pushes towards mainstream adoption, firms gradually integrate crypto payment systems into their ecosystem.

The company was provided with a payment feature by Bit2Me, Spain’s largest crypto exchange, to enable crypto purchases on Tu.com. Telefónica also invested in Bit2Me; details regarding the move are expected to be released soon.

Telefónica aims to explore collaborative commercial metaverse opportunities and XR/metaverse products/services; in line with this goal, the company announced a partnership with Qualcomm earlier this week. The official release noted that “the collaboration opens the opportunity to deliver new experiences to customers merging the digital and analogue worlds, re-imagining commerce, entertainment, and communication in the metaverse. “

The Spanish telecom giant, Telefónica also partnered with Polygon to launch an NFT marketplace on the Polygon blockchain and build web3 solutions that enable companies to issue NFTs without hassle.
