The newest addition to Nigeria’s rapidly expanding tech scene, BlockSpace Innovation Hub, had its official launch on March 9th, 2024, in Ikorodu, Lagos. The hub aims to become a pivotal player in cultivating a dynamic ecosystem of developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to prosper and push the boundaries of technology.

BlockSpace Innovation Hub is more than just a technology hub; it’s a launchpad for innovation and a catalyst for progress. With a mission to empower individuals to create impactful solutions that drive positive change in Africa and beyond, BlockSpace envisions a future where Africa’s brightest minds lead the global tech revolution.

“We are passionate about empowering Africa’s youth to innovate, disrupt, and lead through blockchain, Web3, and cryptocurrency,” says Mr. Chuta Chimezie, the founder of BlockSpace Innovation Hub and a notable figure in the Nigerian tech industry. Chimezie, known for his contributions to technology education and empowerment, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the helm of BlockSpace.

The hub offers a range of facilities designed to support tech productivity, including co-working spaces, conference rooms, a gym, and recreational areas. It embraces a “Live, Learn, Build, Have Fun, Play, and Succeed” ethos, providing a holistic environment for tech enthusiasts to thrive.

“We are thrilled to partner with industry leaders such as Metamask, NiTDA, React, and many others to drive innovation and collaboration,” adds Chimezie. “These partnerships will play a crucial role in shaping the future of tech in Africa.”

The launch event saw the presence of various industry players, including Dr. Falilat Jummy, the Representative of the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). Dr. Jummy’s presence underscored the significance of BlockSpace Innovation Hub in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

BlockSpace’s goals extend beyond providing physical infrastructure; it aims to create a vibrant community of tech professionals through mentorship and quality education. By fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning, BlockSpace seeks to unlock the full potential of Africa’s tech ecosystem.

“We intend to impact our local community and the broader tech ecosystem by nurturing quality tech professionals and fostering the development of groundbreaking tech products,” says Chimezie. “BlockSpace is where like-minded individuals come together to shape the future of technology in Africa.”
