Top Universities Offering Blockchain Courses

The educational sector is known for being slow in adopting new technologies. Most often they take their time to study the technology, form committees, redesign the programs and by then the technology is already getting out of vogue. However, with the blockchain technology, while some institutions are sceptical about integrating the blockchain technology into their educational system, some other institutions are taking the bull by the horn. Here’s a list of top universities that have established themselves as an authority in the blockchain technology with courses, programs and certification.
UNIVERSITY OF NICOSIA
The University of Nicosia was the first university to accept Bitcoin as means of payment for tuition. UNIC was founded in 1980 and is the largest university in Cypress. Unlike other schools offering only conventional certification with a master’s degree, UNIC offers an online, 3-semester long master’s degree program.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
The Princeton University was founded before the American Revolution and is one of the oldest universities in America.
Princeton is putting it mark in the blockchain space and offering open courses on Coursera such as its Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technology program. Although it’s not a full program, it is still prestigious.
MIT
MIT has become an authority on blockchain technology, it is making its mark with the Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative. The Initiative aims to further development and awareness of the blockchain technology through research projects and support for blockchain groups.
CORNELL UNIVERSITY
Cornell University is one of the youngest Ivy schools dedicated to the most current modern technology. Cornell is offering the Cornell Blockchain, the project is supported by the Cornell’s Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Contracts (IC3). The project will provide certification and education.
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT BERKELEY
The University of California at Berkeley has been ranked the best public research university in the US. The Blockchain course being offered at Berkeley is a student-led organization pioneering the blockchain technology in the university. Education, consulting and research in blockchain is offered by the students, alumni, and community members
