Inside Blockchain: Metaverse as a Disruptive Technology

The Metaverse is a combination of the prefix “meta” which means beyond, and the word “universe” which means a particular sphere of activity or experience. Simply put, the metaverse is a world beyond the universe or a virtual reality.

In this ‘world’, people can move around freely, interact with their friends, attend events & meetings using virtual representations of a character or persona called an avatar. Virtual lands and buildings can also be bought and sold in the metaverse using cryptocurrencies – basically doing the exact same things you can do in the real world and even more.

On today’s session of the Inside Blockchain on 8th November 2021, the focus is on the Metaverse and how it can disrupt and transform the existing technology infrastructure. We also looked at how the Metaverse can alter the way we understand the concept of ‘virtual reality’ as well as its imminent use cases.

Joining us on the show is, Henry Chukwuka, Founder of Crypto savings app, Muna and Emeka Ezike, Business Development Manager at Huobi Global, as both were keen to share their views on the concept of the Metaverse.
