Published

on

AFEN blockchain is set to launch the testnet version of their NFT marketplace today, 15th June, 2020. The disclosure was made by the official Twitter handle of the company yesterday. Modalities on how the launch would go would be updated along the line according to the handle.

The latest update from the Blockchain company is a blog post explaining how individuals can become artists on the Beta NFT marketplace it is set to launch today. The blog explained that not much is needed to become a functional artist except for a non-custodial wallet such as Metamask.

The AFEN marketplace is built on the Binance Smart Chain network and one needs a non-custodial wallet to be connected to the Binance Smart Chain to be able to use the network to access the marketplace. The browser of such wallets like Metamask would be used to access it.

AFEN and NFTs

The main purpose of the AFEN ecosystem revolves around NFTs and arts. According to their website, the leading NFT project in Africa aims to “revolutionize” key sectors such as Real estate, Arts and Education. It is creating a platform to foster the exchange of digital arts, blockchain education as well as Real estate.  The ecosystem is governed by the native token; $AFEN.

However, AFEN seeks to revolutionize the African arts and artifacts by creating a marketplace where these legacies can be digitized and valued for their worth. Tokenized versions of these arts would be traded on the marketplace which will in the long run increase the value of these art works. The NFTs marketplace would be decentralized.
