Enjiin blockchain announces official launch

Published

The long-awaited Enjin blockchain is now live for all users, especially builders, to create exciting web3 products such as games and NFT-based platforms. Enjin made the announcement on its X (formerly Twitter) handle a few hours ago.

Enjin is a brainchild of Maxim Blagov and Witek Radomski, who started the project as early as 2009. They were initially focused on building a community of over 20 million gamers worldwide but eight years later, in 2017, they conducted an ICO event to introduce Enjin Coin (ENJ), and the official launch of the development of the Enjin blockchain.

Enjin blockchain is a blockchain platform designed specifically for the gaming industry. It is used to create and manage non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital assets within video games and virtual worlds. Enjin provides tools and infrastructure that game developers can use to integrate blockchain technology into their games.

With Enjin, game items, and assets can be tokenized as NFTs, giving them unique properties and ownership records on the blockchain. This enables players to truly own their in-game items and transfer them between games or trade them with other players.

Enjin is built on the Ethereum blockchain and uses its smart contract capabilities to enable secure and transparent ownership of digital assets.

Features of the Enjin ecosystem

Some of the exciting features in the Enjin ecosystem include the Enjin Wallet which is accessible via Android and iOS devices. With this, users can store and manage cryptos like BTC, ETH, and many others.

Enjin Wallet allows users to assemble a collection of NFTs, generate and oversee multiple wallets, engage in trading and swapping, utilize dApps, and claim complimentary NFTs all within a single wallet.

Enjin Platform is another feature in the Enjin ecosystem that is designed to facilitate the creation of a metaverse within the Polkadot ecosystem, harnessing the network’s advantages. It grants users access to the Polkadot Parachain and a cross-chain bridge.

Within this platform, NFTs and tokens can be effortlessly generated for various purposes like gaming, art, music, and sports projects. Anyone can create, mint, and distribute tokens via this channel.

Additional features include the NFT marketplace, which links projects with the EVM and compatible networks; and the primary token, Enjin Coin, which also serves as the governance token.

Downtime being worked on

Enjin reports that it is currently encountering slower-than-anticipated performance due to an overwhelming surge in platform demand. However, Enjin reassures its users that a dedicated team of developers is actively resolving these issues.

The platform emphasizes its commitment to addressing the increased demand and ensuring smooth data synchronization. Notably, Enjin has garnered the attention and collaboration of industry leaders, including Microsoft, Samsung, and BMW, as it has evolved since its inception.
