Polkastater to integrate ZK rollups for Scalability solutions

Published

Polkstarter has completed research on Optimistic and Zero Knowledge-rollups Layer2 solutions and is currently testing them on its Polkstarter Launchpad stack. Integration after testing will go live in Q2 2023 to create a platform for scaling decentralized fundraising, Polkstarter said.

Additionally, Polkstarter aims to solve some of the Ethereum-associated setbacks like speed limit and high gas at high demand “which can negatively affect fundraising activities”.

Polkastarter said they have been researching and following the optimistic and ZKP-based Ethereum L2 development for scalability solutions over the past year and are working on solutions to bring the technology to its platform.

Polkstarter cited Ethereum’s mention of its scalability trilemma and proffered solutions that wouldn’t replace the Ethereum Blockchain but upgrade its operation method. According to Polkstarter, “an alternative approach is to add a roll-up layer (L2) on top of Ethereum, which executes the transaction off-chain and then only posts proofs of validity for transaction batches on-chain.”

Highlighting rollup solutions, Polkstarter said Optimistic rollups and ZK rollups are the solutions to the Ethereum shortcomings.

Optimistic rollups have been garnering market attention with Optimism and Arbitrum being the leading ecosystems implementing them. They are also making significant progress as an intermediate solution to ZK implementation, some experts are seeing optimistic rollups as a “short-cut” intermediate solution awaiting the ZK implementation.

For Zero Knowledge Proofs, Polkstarter highlighted some scalability solutions attached to it. Polkstarter found out from a research that ZKP can “increase transaction throughput and lower costs without sacrificing any of the desired properties: decentralization, security, and scalability.”

Additionally, ZKP can allow proving that you know something without telling the other party what you know; it can be used to prove the correct execution of off-chain transactions, Polkastater said.

The four projects identified by Polkastater that would enable them to deploy to achieve desired results include Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon zkEVM, and zkSync era (zkSync 2.0).

While the new ZK-rollups undergo testing and future integration in Q2 2023, Optimism and Arbitrum are already live. Polkastater also made a call on Projects interested in raising funds on L2 rollups to contact its analysts’ team.
