In collaboration with the NEAR Foundation, the New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) has announced a “Web3 Learning Workshop” for students, teachers, and business partners. This is part of an effort to raise awareness of cryptocurrencies.
The program was created by the NYU SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport. The workshop will pay particular attention to how blockchain and Web3 technologies interact with the sports industry.
The NEAR Foundation will supply the program’s content and delivery, as its main objective, is to increase awareness of blockchain applications.
Michael Kelly, co-founder and CPO of Open Forest Protocol, will draw on his professional expertise as a founder of the NEAR ecosystem, and will also conduct the in-person session in New York City.
Marieke Flament, CEO of the NEAR Foundation, said, “We are thrilled to cooperate with the NYU SPS Tisch Institute to offer a new route for people of the business, sports, and education sectors to join the world of web3.”
He further stated that NYU SPS will be able to give students, teachers, and business partners a comprehensive understanding of the NEAR Protocol and all of its uses in the sports sector with the help of NEAR’s expertise.
Additionally, students that take part in the NYU SPS will also be qualified to receive non-fungible token (NFT) rewards through a decentralized application on the Near platform. Assistance will be provided to the school in deciding on a technical development strategy, picking a development partner, and communicating with the development team.
