TIME Magazine is taking a step alongside Sandbox to build ‘TIME Square’ in the metaverse. This is not new as so many global brands have replicated a move into the metaverse. From Gucci to JP Morgan, and HSBC. The news was announced on the Twitter handle of Time Pieces a few hours ago:

The virtual space will be used as a gallery where people will meet and as well as for art and commerce all around creations from Times Pieces. Times Pieces is the NFT community created by the brand Times magazine in 2021 and since then has grown to thousands of community members on Twitter and Discord.

Sandbox and TimePieces Community
Sandbox will provide the platform for TIME’s land where TIME’s Square will be built. The project is a reflection of the lifestyle of New York where holders of TimePieces NFTs will have exclusive rights to services like events, discussions, and more.
TIME President Keith A. Grossman, speaking about the metaverse move, called on architects to design the iconic space. “Our goal is to create a destination that will be the heart of the metaverse,” said Keith A. Grossman, TIME President.
“Since launching TIMEPieces in September 2021, we have focused on developing a community in Web3 that benefited from the incredible 100- year legacy and access TIME has established.”
For Sandbox, “By partnering with TIME,” said the COO and Co-Founder, Sebastien Borget, “we’re adding TIMEPieces as the beating heart and soul of this virtual Manhattan, where a design call for virtual architects will be held in TIME Square, a place in our creative metaverse for brands and creators.”
