Cryptocurrency trading platform Bittrex Global hints at entering the Nigeria market. In the CryptoTvplus organized AMA Series which had the Vice President of Operations at Bittrex Global, Rahwa Berhe, she said the exchange is “definitely looking to enter and help support the residents of Nigeria.”
Rahwa Berhe acknowledged Nigeria to be a significant market in the world for cryptocurrency. In her word, “Nigeria is a very larege market when it comes to bitcoin and I see there’s a massive opportunity”.
Rahwa Berhe was a guest at the CryptoTvplus weekly AMA Series. She spoke on the topic “Bittrex Global: Why we launched tokenized stocks trading”.

Bittrex Global KYC Policy for Nigerians
When asked whether Bittrex Global will set up a local presence, seh said, we are exploring markets where we can build out our brand and onboard more people just to have a safe place to trade innovate products and that include Nigeria. She continued saying she’s personally so passionate about cryptocurrency adoption and financial inclusion on the African continent which Nigeria is a major player in the space.

Concerning regulatory policies as it related to KYC, the VP of Operations, when asked why Nigerians are not allowed to use other government issued document for KYC except the international passport, she said per where it is regulated, and the laws, they itemize for each country requirements for KYC, there is limitation and only international passport meets the requirements and they are constantly working with regulators on how to expand the requirements to make it more inclusive.
We understand the passport requirements are not feasible for everyone and we are working constantly to onboard more users. For Nigeria nationals currently, we require them to have a passport, she added.
