Martian wallet on Aptos is bringing web3 to the social platform, Twitter. The Martian team announced the launch of a self custodial Twitter integration feature that will enable users to perform transactions on Twitter.
With this feature, users can send their crypto or digital assets and NFTs on the Aptos Blockchain to friends using the Twitter platform. Twitter is a social media platform for social networking and connection, and sharing of thoughts called tweets. The Martian wallet feature is a step to adding more value to Twitter users in a way that allows them to not only use the social media platform for content and engagement but to exchange value (digital assets). The new integration will also allow users to buy and list NFTs on the microblogging platform.
The Martian team via the development welcomes Aptos NFT projects or DAOs to run Twitter campaigns and as well give out rewards using Martian to their community. The reward can be in the form of tokens or NFTs.
This move will allow the Aptos ecosystem a wider community reach and its supporters can now engage more with the project.
According to Martian, retweeters on a project’s post on Twitter will receive airdrops, conditioned to linking their Twitter account and Aptos account on Martian wallet. The post by Martian wallet on Twitter read, “a tweet from a project’s account saying- “@martian_wallet send 6900 $RIZZ to first 1000 Retweeters” will result in first 1000 Retweeters getting airdropped 6900 $RIZZ coins given the retweeters have linked their Twitter handle and Aptos account on Martian wallet.”

Martian is a self custodial wallet giving users control of their digital assets. Highlighting terms of service to users on the new development, Martian said “it will only store your Twitter handle linked to your wallet address and will never store your private keys or secret phrase.”
Other service statements by Martian include privacy protection where Martian assured users that their Twitter information linked with Martian will never be shared. Martian also said users are allowed the flexibility of unlinking Martian wallet from Twitter which will as well imply that “Martian will stop storing Twitter handles accordingly.”
Along with this feature, Martian opened a retweet campaign to partner projects and they will have to fill out a campaign form to get whitelisted. Access the whitelist form here.
The Martian team further said that the retweet campaigns in the coming days will only be on testnet and will serve the purpose of testing out the Martian new feature. “We will support this feature on mainnet soon and will communicate the same through our official social channels,” Martian team said.
