Web3 game development company Xternity has migrated its multiplayer game called Synergy Land from Solana to Polygon. The Ethereum scaling Layer 2 Blockchain, Polygon, entered into a partnership with the web3 development company, that included migration and onboarding.

As blockchains, while Solana focuses majorly on scalability and cost-cutting, Polygon allows for seamless interaction with the Ethereum ecosystem. In order to smoothen the transfer of Synergy Land#s resources into the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain, Xternity proposed a process — via its network migration tool — that can be used to migrate games or projects across chains.

Speaking about the migration, co-founder and CEO Sagi Maman said that it was Xternity’s goal to improve weeb3 development, stating that players and developers alike should have the option to choose their own blockchain ecosystems.

For users, the migration process involves linking their Solana-compatible wallets, such as Phantom and MetaMask, burning their assets on Solana, and recreating them on Polygon. With the migration, Synergy land has set its sights on onboarding web2 users into web3 without compromising the community hosted over the older blockchain

On Jan. 17, the Polygon proof-of-stake chain was scheduled for a hard fork
