All you need to know about Tomi
Tomi is a Web3 company focused on building and providing services around decentralized services and computing hardware. It is designed to provide internet-based tools that are not under the control of the government but are structured to be governed by its users.
According to the team, the challenge of building tech infrastructure on centralized systems has affected the way users deploy them or the information they have access to or share. From the era of Web2, this problem has prevailed and is seen in the web3 ecosystem today.
Blockchain solutions are still built on centralized systems that are not sensor resistant. While blockchain is meant to provide real decentralization, it is not because of these centralized foundations. Therefore, the Tomi team started the platform that is called tomiNet as an alternative to what is available now.
The tomi ecosystem involves the integration of both web2 and web3 tools to create a hybrid system for a decentralized world. The solution is made up of a parallel internet that ensures decentralization of power, freedom of speech, information and property, and non-extractive business models.
Features of tomiNet
TomiNet has an Internet protocol infrastructure and a DNS system that operates differently from the present DNS system controlled by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). It is called tDNS protocol and is built to be controlled by NFTs assigned on the blockchain.
Each URLs issued and that will be issued will be represented by an NFT which provides encryption for the addresses. This means that no approved address can be censored by an entity.
Another aspect of the Tomi ecosystem is the tomiDAO. TomiDAO is decentralized system that governs the development, implementation, and improvement of the Tomi project. For example, instead of having a site banned for bridging rules, the tomiDAO is tasked with voting for the banning of such sites.
According to Tomi, the project will not provide a completely censorship-free web, thus the tomiDAO will govern the implementation of rules.
In the tomiNET is a token called the Tomi token, on which the entire project is built and runs the ecosystem. There are the fungible tomi tokens as well as the pioneer NFTs. The former is used for transactions, fees, and rewards for community members while the latter serves as membership tokens that define the status of holders in the community.
Tomi nodes are Web3 native cloud computing nodes in the tomi ecosystem that complements the cloud network with a mesh that enables users around the world to carry out transactions using the Tomi network.
Those who manage nodes are rewarded with Tomi tokens for their efforts and this can be done from anywhere around the world. The server or cloud computing system is made up of decentralized cloud hosting, decentralized storage, blockchain GPU mining, consensus validation, VPN services, and proxy services.
Tomi which uses the Onion Router Protocol (TOR) to encrypt all data, addresses, and communications on the tomiNet also has tomiPASSPORT. The tomiPASSPORT is a digital identity solution that gives users self-sovereignty over their privacy, and how they share their information online. A self-custody wallet is attached to this system too for the security of all users on Tomi.
There will also be tomiPay, which will allow users to make payments for several services hosted on various chains; tomiBROWSER for safely surfing the net; artDAO which allows users to submit artworks to be rewarded for it; and uses Ethereum blockchain, and Starkware utilities for privacy, fast transactions, and low transaction fees.
Road map of Tomi
Tomi plans to launch the Tomi DAO, Tomi artDAO, and Tomi governance token, and list the tokens on exchanges between January and March 2023. In Q2 of 2023, the Tomi domain naming service, Tomi Bridge, and Tomi NFT will be released.
Tomi Super Computer V2, and the Codename Gotham project will be introduced into the ecosystem while in the last quarter of 2023, Tomi Pay, completion of the mesh cloud network, and MP2 nodes will be delivered.
