The recently published data on web3 gaming from DappRadar unveiled that the number of daily Unique Active Wallets (UAW) in Q3 2023 surged to an average of 786,766, marking a substantial 12% increase from the previous quarter.
Breaking down this data at the blockchain level, Wax maintained its lead across key metrics, including Unique Active Wallets and transaction volume. Alien Worlds on the Wax blockchain maintained its position as the most-played Web3 game in Q3 2023. This game commanded over 60% of WAX’s total activity.
Meanwhile, Axie Infinity and Gods Unchained led in terms of Web3 gaming transaction volume, with $90 million and $55 million, respectively. Axie Infinity gained more popularity, further fueled by recent updates.
Alongside, Gods Unchained debuted a new season resulting in a remarkable uptick in trade interaction. Impressively, in recent days, their trading activity even outperformed long-standing NFT collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Azuki, according to DappRadar NFT charts.
As the blockchain gaming industry continues to evolve, it witnessed the entrance of new players like Skale, Base, and zkSync. Also, Skale and zkSync in Q3 generated an impressive buzz within the gaming community and made it to the top seven gaming blockchains by transaction.
Notably, DappRadar highlighted that Treasure DAO hints at an emerging trend likely to be witnessed in the coming months. Treasure DAO is a casual gaming studio, and represents a niche that has been attracting significant user attention recently, DappRadar said.
DappRadar showed that four out of the top ten dapps belong to casual gaming studios. Deduced from their statistics, DappRadar sparks the temptation to forecast that casual gaming studios might well dominate the next wave of Web3 gaming. However, what happens in the following quarters would offer more clarity on this evolving trend.
