In a great example of solidarity and kindness, Binance Charity has initiated a massive relief effort in response to the recent earthquake that struck Morocco. This initiative aims to provide financial aid to those affected by the tragedy, providing hope amid the devastation.
Binance Charity has committed to a substantial airdrop of up to $3 million in Binance Coin (BNB) to Binance users residing in the areas most severely impacted by the earthquake.
The relief effort is expected to benefit approximately 70,000 Binance users who reside in Morocco. Users residing in the Marrakesh-Safi Province, which bore the brunt of the earthquake’s impact, are set to receive $100 in BNB each directly to their Binance accounts.
The identification of eligible users will be based on Proof of Address (POA) completed before September 9, 2023, ensuring that those most affected receive immediate assistance.
Binance acknowledges that some users in the affected area may not have completed the POA process by the specified date. To accommodate these users, Binance Charity has extended a lifeline, offering $25 in BNB to any existing user who completes POA after September 9, 2023, but before September 30, 2023.
In addition to aiding those directly impacted, Binance Charity recognizes the importance of supporting the broader community in Morocco. Active transacting users across the country, even those outside the affected areas, will receive $10 in BNB.
Additionally, Binance Charity has established a public donation address to which anyone can contribute. They will donate the total amount of cryptocurrency received at this address to an authorized NGO yet to be named that aids those in need. The Emergency Earthquake Appeal accepts donations in BNB, BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, and BUSD.
