Web3 development suite, Infura has teamed with the new Ethereum layer-2 network, Base launched by Coinbase. Base was launched to provide developers with more options to build decentralized applications. Infura aims to provide users access to Base through their existing plans on Infura. However, access to Base will begin with an exclusive private beta.

Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) network built to offer a secure, low-cost, and a way to build dApps on-chain. Base is powered by Optimism’s open-source.

Developers can use Infura’s Base API to deploy their dapps along with existing Ethereum tooling and products. The products include Truffle, ConsenSysAudits, Remix, and Metamask.

Infura has created a wait list for developers who would like to take part in Infura’s exclusive Base private beta. Interested users are required to fill out a wait-list form and afterwards will receive details on how to access the Base L2 testnet endpoint.

Following Base launch, Coinbase revealed that over 25 communities have already joined the Base project, and more will join, Coinbase said. Additionally, Coinbase launched a free mint NFT, Base, Introduced and a Base Ecosystem fund targeted at investing in startups.

Infura is a blockchain development suite, providing tools and infrastructure that allow developers to easily take their DApps from testing to deployment. Through Infura, developers can access Ethereum and IPFS.
