Shopify has integrated NFT creation on its platform via Venly on the Avalanche blockchain. Merchants who use the e-commerce platform can now design, mint, and sell NFTs in a split minute.
Shopify is a multibillion-dollar Canadian e-commerce site that has attracted more than 4.4 million stores and generated 10% of all e-commerce sales in the US for 2021. With a total sales of over $200 billion since its inception and availability in 175 nations around the world, Shopify is set to onboard more users into the Web3 ecosystem.
Avalanche is one of the fastest blockchains with a high throughput rate that allows transactions at a very low cost. Apart from Shopify, Avalanche has partnered with other Web2 firms to expand the use of Web3 technologies.
Venly is a Web3 SaaS business that is focused on onboarding web2 businesses and users to web3 using secure and easy-to-use software products.
No need to create a wallet
With an eco-friendly platform such as Avalanche, seamless platform, Venly, and business-focused Shopify system, the retail world will have its newest Web3 entry for 2023. The Venly App is so simple it doesn’t require the creation of any wallet by users.
According to Avalanche, once the NFT is created, it is stored in a wallet, which permits transfer to other wallets while the owner gets a link to the wallet via email.
Tim Dierckxsens, CEO & co-founder of Venly explained that the project will allow Shopify’s goal (better commerce) as well as that of Venly (making blockchain simpler) to be achieved. “Being a blockchain that is very fast, low cost, and eco-friendly, Avalanche was an obvious choice for us to provide businesses with an excellent NFT sales solution.”
Speaking about the relevance of the project to Shopify, Christina Lomazzo, Blockchain Ecosystem Lead, Shopify noted that the growth of Shopify’s blockchain ecosystem is a necessity to help merchants break boundaries of the possibilities found in e-commerce.
For John Nahas, VP of Business Development at Ava Labs, the partnership with Venly and Shopify shows that the future of user experience in Web3 can be better.
