National Geographic has partnered with Snowcrash to release its first NFT collections in 2023. Snowcrash shared the news in a tweet about the debut collectibles.
National Geographic is one of the most populous magazines read globally, with a total circulation of 6.1 million as of June 2016. The magazine, which is owned by National Geographic Partners, is used as an educative and explorative material on subjects such as geography, history, nature, science, and world culture. The organization, which started in 1888, is also linked to Nat Geo Wild and National Geographic Kids.
Snowcrash is a Web3 studio and NFT platform where artists can design and launch digital collectibles. A breakdown of the NFT release confirms that there will be 1888 NFTs in total, which is likely connected to the founding date, and will be ready forint on January 17, 2023, on Snowcrash.
“GM: Daybreak Around the World” NFT
The “GM: Daybreak Around the World” NFT by National Geographic is part of its initiative to mark the company’s 135th anniversary. According to the details of the release, the Genesis NFT collection will feature pictures of daybreak around the world from 16 photographers and artists.
Justin Aversano, Jimmy Chin, Yagazie Emezi, Mia Forrest, Delphine Diallo, and Kris Graves are among the 16 artists and photographers participating in the project. Furthermore, each artist and photographer release 118 editions of their captures on the Polygon network in a blind drop.
NFTs have gained good acceptance in the world of traditional media and entertainment. Time magazine, Sony Music, Netflix, and Walt Disney are amongst the top entertainment firms that are exploring the use of NFTs.
