OpenSea on Tuesday announced that Avalanche is officially live on its platform, and has launched natively on the Avalanche network, a layer-1 Blockchain protocol. This announcement has put OpenSea on the list with Joepegs, Kalao, Campfire, and NFTrade as NFT marketplaces for the Avalanche community.
Following the announcement, OpenSea, in a Twitter post, said it had already onboarded collections like chikn_nft, taptapkaboom, GabrielJWeis, playcastlecrush, and OpenBlox_io. Expressing its excitement, OpenSea said, “after working with Avalanche and several projects, we can’t wait to meet the rest of the community.”
Avalanche acknowledged OpenSea as a key player in NFT adoption, having about $20B+ in trading volume across 80M+ NFTs. “OpenSea is a welcomed addition to marketplaces on Avalanche,” the platform expressed.
Avalanche creators should note that they are to set up their creator fees using the details contained in the blog post by OpenSea for Avalanche creators. OpenSea also urged Avalanche creators to share their OpenSea collections on Twitter.
On Avalanche, OpenSea users who are yet to explore Avalanche can now access its robust NFT marketplace. Following the launch, 10+ Avalanche native projects are ready to be featured on OpenSea as more projects would join later, Avalanche disclosed in a blog post.
Dominic Carbonaro, Business Development Lead, NFTs and Arts at Ava Labs, said, “Avalanche’s NFT community has a unique identity and passion for experimenting with both the art and applications of NFTs, and creators here are still just scratching the surface.” We’re excited to welcome the OpenSea community to Avalanche and expand the reach of Avalanche NFTs into new territory,” he added.
