Coca-Cola releases a new set of digital collectibles available for fans to commemorate their one year in the metaverse. The NFTs were released on International Friendship Day, 2022.
Current owners of the brand’s collectibles will receive these bubble-designed NFTs in their wallets and are permitted to share them with their friends around the world. This will be the second time Coca-Cola is celebrating International Friendship Day with the launch of crypto collectibles.
Pratik Thakar, Head of Global Creative Strategy, Coca-Cola asserts that the International Friendship Day NFTs project presents a perfect opportunity to reach out and thank the Coca-Cola community around the world. “We hope to strengthen and expand our ‘Real Magic’ community,” said the Strategist.

Building a Virtual Community
The community continues to be the underpinning factor to keep a brand relevant in the virtual world. Coca-Cola wants to do this with their metaverse projects which the company says will be active in 2022.
With ongoing plans such as the Coke Studio-structured activities, there will be activities around Halloween in October and International Singles Day, in November.
From 2021 to date, the team has created over 4,000 digital collectibles for events like International Burger Day and International Pride Day for the LGBTQIA+ community.
This cultural inclusivity of the Coca-Cola community facilitated by Non-Fungibles is key to “building our virtual ecosystem by surprising and delighting fans” opined Pratik Thakar.
