Phantom Wallet has introduced a new feature called Camera Mint, enabling users to effortlessly create NFTs. By simply taking a picture of an image, users can instantly convert it into an NFT.

Originally designed for Solana, Phantom is a digital wallet that now supports multiple chains, including Ethereum and Polygon. It serves as a cryptocurrency wallet, facilitating storage, sending, receiving, collecting, and token swapping on the Solana blockchain.

Phantom is accessible both as a browser extension and a mobile app for Android. The mobile app was publicly launched in 2022 and is readily available to users.

Solana is a blockchain platform designed to host decentralized, scalable applications. It is a cryptocurrency that was created to work similarly to and improve upon Ethereum.

According to Phantom, the Camera Mint tool instantly converts photos and videos into Solana-based NFTs. This simplifies the process of creating NFTs by eliminating the need for complex technical knowledge.

In addition to transforming visual content into NFTs, users who try out Camera Mint also have the chance to receive an exclusive Phantom collectible as a token of gratitude from the platform.

For those concerned about costs, Phantom clarifies that they do not charge a fee. Instead, there is a cost of 0.012 SOL for renting 4 token accounts and a Metaplex fee of 0.01 SOL, resulting in a total of 0.022 SOL (approximately $0.77).

NFTs in 2023

The NFT market has faced challenges in 2023. Dappradar’s Q3, 2023 data reveals that key metrics for gauging the NFT market’s activity and health have hit their lowest points since Q1 2022.

These metrics include trading volume, indicating the total NFT value in transactions, and sales count, tracking the number of NFT transactions.

In this challenging market, Yuga Labs continues to shine in the top 5 NFT collections for Q3 2023, retaining its prominent position despite falling volumes, and market price.
