Celo upgrades brand and thanks users for their contribution

The Celo co-founders have made official the unveiling of the company’s updated, dynamic brand design, which includes a new logo, branding, and message. After a year-long endeavor, the new upgrade is announced on a newly updated website, along with partner launches and awareness initiatives aimed at widespread adoption of Web3 for regular users around the world.

With the release of the Celo 2.0 technical roadmap, which includes dates for the launch of significant integrations and well-known partnerships, this upgrade also marks the beginning of an accelerating period.

Reminiscing about the beginning, the blog post indicated that the founders were aware that the road to widespread acceptance of Web3 technology would be difficult and that they would face challenges along the way. Notwithstanding, during the past three years, the community and ecosystem have remained resilient and have continued to build with a purpose, staying steadfast in their devotion to the Celo mission: to foster prosperity.

Also revealed was the founders’ desire to give back to the community as a way to appreciate Celo’s phenomenal growth. It further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to using a regenerative blockchain to improve the planet. The published article explains why this is the case by claiming that “there has never been a more essential time than now to reinvent the long-broken, traditional banking systems which have caused so much damage to vulnerable populations and the planet.”

This updated version of Celo’s brand design was developed as part of a public co-creation process that began in April 2022 and involved over 75 sessions and 150+ hours. Many of the participants in this process were significant Celo stakeholders. These participants were lauded once more for their contribution to growing the brand by fostering genuine agreement for a decentralized, permissionless platform that permits broad influence and calls for trust and strength.

The brand’s distinguishable interlocking circles have changed into a block system, which serves as a foundational base to showcase the ecosystem’s connection to the rest of the world as well as the transformative impact it enables for underserved and unbanked communities as well as the environment, according to an explanation of the new logo’s specifics. While fundamental colors Prosperity Yellow remain constant. This visual scheme is complemented by fluid typography and warm color treatment.

In the closing statement, the publication outlined the various activities slated to celebrate this milestone and how interested parties can take part. These are:

  • Retweeting of @CeloOrg official thread mentioning the new #CeloEvolution brand. Users are encouraged to share this update across all social channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, Telegram, and more.
  • Users should share feedback on the Celo Forum.
  • They can join the first-ever Celo Block Party on January 13 at 11 am ET. This is a new virtual, quarterly event celebrating the new brand, with regular builder and ecosystem-wide updates, including special guest appearances from Celo founders and partners.
  • They should check out Opera’s Crypto Browser, which has integrated Mento stable asset cUSD into its Opera Mini Wallet. This is available to over 70 million users in Africa, with GoodDollar expected to launch on Celo in February.
  • Users can participate in a one-week NFT auction, “Evolua,” created in collaboration with Valora and Arigallery. This auction features eight global artists, including Mercy Thokozane Minah (South Africa), Juan Jose Giraldo Campuzano (Colombia), and Marzia Braggion (Portugal).
  • Users should be on the lookout for CoinMarketCap’s animated video series which educates users around the world about the blockchain’s regenerative ecosystem and how Mento stable assets can be leveraged for real-world application. They should also be on the lookout for Brave Browser’s spotlight campaign featuring the new Celo brand identity, on Jan. 23rd.
  • Lastly, they should anticipate cLabs’ technical roadmap for Celo 2.0, which will be released soon.
