The National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Changpeng Zhao (CZ). This agreement is set to drive advancements in the nation’s blockchain and crypto sector.
The President announced that both parties will collaborate to improve infrastructure, provide technical expertise, and offer consulting services on digital assets and blockchain technology. Kyrgyzstan plans to introduce educational programs to equip citizens with knowledge in these advanced fields.
This partnership strengthens the country’s technological foundation, fosters innovation, and develops expertise in blockchain, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity.
According to the President, “This includes providing infrastructural and technological support, technical expertise, and consulting services on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, as well as implementing educational initiatives.”
He explained that as digital finance evolves globally, strategic initiatives like this ensure sustainable economic growth while maintaining the security of virtual assets. He added that the deal also opens up new opportunities for businesses and individuals both within and outside Kyrgyzstan. It will position the Kyrgyz Republic as a key player in the digital economy.
Changpeng Zhao, a Chinese-Canadian entrepreneur, founded Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. He has been pivotal in shaping the crypto industry. Under his leadership, Binance has handled massive daily trading volumes, surpassing $1.2 trillion in transactions in 2023 alone, and now serves over 150 million users worldwide.
Beyond leading a successful company, CZ has significantly advanced blockchain adoption, supported new projects, and increased financial literacy in the crypto space. His commitment to innovation has made Binance a trusted platform for both beginners and experienced traders.
In 2024, legal action was initiated against him and Binance. By November 2023, CZ had admitted to violating U.S. anti-money laundering regulations. As a result of a settlement, he resigned from his position as Binance CEO and consented to a $50 million penalty, while the company itself incurred fines totaling $4.3 billion.
CZ was sentenced to four months in prison in April 2024 and served his time before being released. After his release, he launched Giggle Academy, an online learning platform providing free education to kids globally, with a focus on financial literacy, coding, and entrepreneurship.
He remains actively involved in the crypto space, continuing to engage with industry news and discussions while sharing his personal insights. Two months ago, CZ took an active role in YZi Labs, which rebranded from Binance Labs.
Recently, CZ revealed that he has “officially and unofficially” advised several governments on crypto regulations and the adoption of blockchain solutions to enhance government efficiency.
