SunPump, the first-ever meme fair launch platform on TRON, is now live in beta. In an announcement post on X quoted by TRON blockchain founder, Justin Sun, the project stated that anyone can now start launching and trading memes.
SunPump is a platform that helps people create and launch cryptocurrency projects based on internet memes. These are digital tokens or coins that often reference popular culture or internet trends.
The platform is designed to make it easy for users to bring their meme-based projects to life. It provides the tools and features needed to launch these tokens in a decentralized way. This means that the process is not controlled by any central authority but operates on a distributed network.
Once a meme project is launched, traders can also trade these meme tokens on the DEXes. Trading allows users to buy and sell these tokens, potentially earning a profit based on market demand and the popularity of the meme.
Innovative and community-rallying trends are easily adopted in crypto. For example, with the rise of DeFi on Ethereum, other chains started marketing their chains to be the go-to for DeFi. This trend was also seen in NFTs, GameFi, DePIN, etc.
The idea behind SunPump can be traced to Pump.fun as both platforms focus on meme tokens. Pump.fun is a Solana-based platform that allows users to easily create and trade meme coins.
Launched in January 2024, it has quickly gained popularity, facilitating the creation of over 1.6 million meme coins, attracting over 111,000 users, and generating more than $58 million in revenue.

While it includes safeguards against scams, such as no presales or team allocations, which helps reduce the risk of rug pulls, traders can still face risks, as developers can purchase large amounts of their tokens before selling them to others.
The trading of memes, especially those on Solana, has seen a surge in volumes from last year into this year with projects such as Bonk, Dogwifhat, Popcat, Book of Meme, Ponke, and WEN.
Other expressions of memes in Web3 this year include celebrities memes like Daddy Tate (DADDY), Azalea’s Mother Iggy (MOTHER) Media personality, Caitlyn Jenner’s JENNER token, on the Solana blockchain, which quickly reached a market cap of over $40 million before tanking,
The demand and rush for more memes have triggered these unique and easy-to-use platforms to drive the launch of more memes.
