Base has announced the winners of its highly anticipated Onchain Summer Buildathon, heralded as the largest onchain hackathon to date.
The competition drew an impressive 1,250 final project submissions from a diverse pool of over 7,500 builders spanning the globe.
This ambitious event, held from May 31st to June 30th, was hosted by Base in collaboration with their production partner, Devfolio, and co-sponsored by prominent names such as Stripe, Shopify, Farcaster, Zora, Fleek, Nouns, Thirdweb, Aerodrome, and Synthetix.
The participants, driven by a shared passion for technological advancement, tackled innovative projects across a variety of categories, including payments, commerce, creator tools, social platforms, gaming, trading, discovery, and URL to IRL applications.
The level of ingenuity and creativity displayed was nothing short of extraordinary, prompting Base to expand the prize pool from an initial 200 ETH to a more substantial 250 ETH.
Projects were meticulously evaluated on criteria such as utility, technical sophistication, creativity, aesthetics, and their potential for future growth, ensuring that only the most promising innovations were recognized.

Talent within the blockchain community, the winners were sorted into eight distinct sub-tracks: Creator, Unplugged, Commerce, Payment, Gaming, Trading, Social, and Discovery.
Standout projects included Feed, Ether Goals, Popshop, BasedCoffee, BlueSocial, Drake Exchange, Intelligent, and CodeCred.
Particularly noteworthy were the projects from Nigerian builders: Assetscooper, SwiftPay Finance, Onchain Summer Anthem, bonadocs, and Zap by Paycrest, which emerged as exemplary winners, embodying the innovation and execution Base sought.
Adding to the excitement, Base announced an additional 40 ETH in rewards for successful integrations of Smart Wallet, OnchainKit, Verifications, and Coinbase Paymaster, with the winners of these special categories to be revealed soon.
Furthermore, an extra 20 ETH is earmarked for hundreds of builders whose exceptional projects, while not making the final cut, deserve recognition for their ingenuity and effort.
The Onchain Summer Buildathon has not only spotlighted the burgeoning talent within the blockchain space but also encouraged developers to continually push the boundaries of what’s possible on the Base network and inspiring a new generation of builders to venture into the world of blockchain technology with renewed vigor and ambition.
