Crypto exchange OKX and English Premier League side Manchester City have formed a $70 million partnership to promote Web3 awareness through sports.
This collaboration comes at a time when European nations, including the UK, are expressing concerns about the crypto market.
OKX is a prominent cryptocurrency exchange that provides various trading services, such as spot, margin, futures, options, and perpetual swaps. Additionally, it offers DeFi, lending, and mining services.
With millions of users across more than 100 countries, OKX ranks among the top cryptocurrency exchanges in terms of trading volume. It supports 348 coins and 575 trading pairs, with a total trading volume exceeding $1.3 trillion.
As part of a three-year deal, the OKX brand will now appear on the left sleeve of both the men’s and women’s first-team playing jerseys. The partnership between OKX and Manchester City has been strong, with OKX showing support for football and promoting the message of crypto.
In 2022, OKX became the official cryptocurrency exchange partner of Manchester City, which also included a kit deal for the club.
OKX further demonstrated their support by celebrating the team’s victories in the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League with an NFT launch.
Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive Officer at Manchester City Football Group, expressed excitement about having OKX represented on the sleeve of the Manchester City shirt, highlighting the positive relationship between the two organizations.
He added that the two companies have shown commitment to developing and driving innovation in their industries.
“We have already seen great Web3 experiences designed by OKX for Manchester City’s global fan base, and there will be many more to come. This is a very exciting partnership.”
Haider Rafique, CMO at OKX, also explained that the relationship between the firms has been excellent, as Manchester City is OKX’s first global partnership brand.
“We always intended to integrate with the sport and help the Club lead on leaning into Web3. Fast forward 15 months, and we now have a metaverse, an NFT initiative, and a number of other new projects that we are excited about.
