Unstoppable Domains has introduced a new domain extension (.polygon) giving the Polygon community a platform to own their digital identity and show their support for Polygon. Following the domain release, Unstoppable Domains is giving a 25% slash on getting the .polygon domain name within the first 48 hours to users. Users can now have an easier route to sending money over the Polygon Network utilizing applications that support this service.
Polygon is an Ethereum scaling decentralized tool hosting web3, DeFi, and NFTs projects.
Domain names in crypto serve the unique purpose of replacing the long alphanumeric strings used for public wallets. This allows users to easily type and remember them. Using Unstoppable Domains users can create profiles and connect them with their social channels, and even showcase on-chain tokens like tickets and awards.
Sanket Shah, Vice President Head of Growth Business Development at Polygon Labs said that the web3 domains will allow the Polygon community to log into DApps “without giving away their personal information and transact crypto without lengthy wallet addresses.”
According to Unstoppable Domains, .polygon domains are integrated with 750 apps, games, and metaverses, and the same goes for all other domains on the platform. Further, Unstoppable Domains added that “Polygon dapps can join Unstoppable’s community of 750 integrated apps by adding Login with Unstoppable and integrate Unstoppable’s API to distribute .polygon domains.”
Following the partnership and launch, Sandy Carter, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business Development at Unstoppable Domains said with the Polygon ecosystem, Unstoppable Domains is putting the power of user-owned digital identities into more people’s hands.
Unstoppable Domains will launch exclusive access to premium .polygon gaming and digit domains starting from March 16th. “That means a chance to own gamer.polygon or snag the highly-coveted 2- or 3-digit domain, like or 00.polygon,” Polygon Labs said.
Alongside the partnership and .polygon domain launch, Unstoppable Domains have been rolling out solutions for the web3 ecosystem and expanding its operation. These include launching a UD Parking, a Web3 Domains Storage Solution, access to Polygon-based digital identities on Opera’s crypto web browser, and integrating Shiba Inu (SHIB) as a new payment option.
